One of the grandest building in Johor Bahru is Istana Besar of Johor Bahru, a Colonial-Classical design palace stately sits facing the banks of Selat Tebrau and Singapore. Regarding on Sultan Ibrahim of Johor Crowning Ceremony that were held on 23rd of March 2015, the renovation work started on 2013. The project mainly focused on 2 main area which is Dewan Singgahsana (Throne Hall) and Dewan Santapan (Banquet Hall). The Palace itself already 149 years old, and because of that, the existing Interior Design concept have to be retained. This is include on the concept of Throne design that taken from Buckingham Palace of London with a bit of taste of Islam by featuring the crescent-moon and star on the top of the Throne. The overall main colour scheme were navy blue which is the colour of Johore flag.
Cafe on Air Restaurant, Perling Mall, Johor Bahru featuring American barbecue food so the riddle on the concept selection is quite easy-American contemporary with hipster approach, fitting the sit of the restaurant in a well-known shopping Mall in Johor Bahru. The concept can be seen strongly appeared by the using of red bricks, timber lattice ceiling and the selection of furniture.
Most of the interior design work are focussing on the Corporate Level and also Sub-Lobby Level.The design approach are try to imitate American corporate image especially for the Corporate Level by using alot of cherrywood coloured timber for most of the finishes either furniture or built in features. Different on the Sub Lobby Level which featuring more on banking-corporate image by sing of black-granite tiles and alot of steels. Concentration were given highly on the ceiling by trying to imitate the movement of clouds and moon.
